The tournament is a sports activity exclusively for young people and is held regularly every year. Thereby, it creates a healthy playground, encourages and promotes the athletics movement among the masses, especially the youth, to train their bodies, contributing to the movement "All people train their bodies following the example of great Uncle Ho" and the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life", building an advanced Vietnamese culture, imbued with national identity.
The 2025 National Youth Athletics Championship brings together 65 high-performance athlete delegations from 63 provinces and cities and 2 Sports Training Centers of the Public Security and Military sectors, with a total of 968 athletes and coaches. The athletes will compete in 86 sets of medals in events such as: Running, high jump, long jump, triple jump, shot put, discus throw, javelin throw, walking... in 3 age groups: 2012-2013, 2010-2011 and 2008-2009. The competition events will take place from June 19-24.

In his opening speech, Director of Lai Chau Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tran Manh Hung affirmed: The tournament is a great opportunity for the locality to introduce and promote beautiful images of nature, culture and people of Lai Chau to domestic and foreign tourists. Thereby, contributing to attracting investors, building Lai Chau into a safe, friendly and attractive destination, creating favorable conditions for the province's tourism development.

After this tournament, the Organizing Committee hopes that the coaches, athletes, and each tourist will be an ambassador to help spread the message: Lai Chau is an attractive, safe, friendly, hospitable destination, ready to welcome tourists and investors from all over the country to explore , enjoy and cooperate, invest in building and developing Lai Chau land to become more and more beautiful, commensurate with the potential that nature has bestowed and the tradition of diligence, creativity and overcoming difficulties of Lai Chau people.
To ensure the quality of the tournament, on schedule, with the spirit of "Solidarity - Honesty - Nobility - Progress in Sports", "Healthy to build and protect the Fatherland", the Organizing Committee hopes that the athletes will promote their talents, compete with all their might to achieve the highest results. Agencies, units and individuals assigned tasks will uphold the sense of responsibility, coordinate to prepare good service conditions, ensure security and safety during the organization of the tournament. Members of the Organizing Committee and referees will uphold the sense of responsibility, impartiality - impartiality - objectivity, and accurately manage the competition contents of the tournament.

This is the first time Lai Chau province has hosted a national high-performance sports tournament. To prepare for the tournament, the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has worked with the Vietnam Athletics Federation and the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports to provide specialized equipment and prepare all aspects to serve the athletes to compete and achieve the best results. Along with professional preparations, the Organizing Committee has also prepared all aspects of security, health, logistics, etc. to ensure the tournament is successful with the highest professional quality.
