According to analyst Ross Young, the iPhone's full-screen design won't appear until at least 2030. Instead, Apple will try to shrink the Dynamic Island.

The latest predictions from Counterpoint Research analyst Ross Young paint a surprising picture of the iPhone's development roadmap until 2030. Contrary to many previous rumors, the prospect of an iPhone with a completely edge-to-edge screen, no longer having a notch to house the front camera cluster and sensors, will not appear until at least 2030.

For the 20th anniversary iPhone in 2027, Young believes the device will have a smaller Dynamic Island notch.

Given the complexity of the details that Apple plans to bring to the future iPhone, the Counterpoint Research analyst continues to predict that by 2028, the company will move all the Face ID components under the screen. This will leave the device with only the selfie camera in the form of a "hole" in the upper left corner of the screen.

This information is in contrast to previous expectations of a "major overhaul" for the future of the smartphone brand that is about to turn 20 years old.

Specifically, according to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, Apple is preparing a "bold" iPhone Pro model for the 20th anniversary of the iPhone launch in 2027 while developing a design that uses more glass, directly referring to the screen.

Another leaker also revealed similar plans. On Weibo, Digital Chat Station account claimed that the next two generations of iPhone - iPhone 17 and iPhone 18 - will retain Dynamic Island.

However, with the 2027 model, Apple will complete the transition to a notch-free display.
