iPhone 5s officially becomes obsolete product

The iPhone 5s was the first iPhone to feature Touch ID and a 64-bit chip when it launched in 2013.

Additionally, authorized service providers will not be able to order parts for any obsolete products. Apple considers a device obsolete when it has been out of service for more than seven years.

Apple launched the iPhone 5s in September 2013 with a notable highlight being the integration of the Touch ID fingerprint sensor into the Home button. In addition, the device is also equipped with the A7 chip - the first 64-bit chip on an iPhone.

On the other hand, the iPod touch (6th generation) introduced in 2015, along with the 2015 version of the 21.5-inch iMac with Retina 4K display, are now listed as vintage products. Apple is known to list a product as vintage after the company has stopped distributing it for sale for 5 years.

Apple Authorized Service Providers can still provide repairs and order parts for products in the vintage category for up to two more years. Parts will be provided based on availability, though.
