Inter Miami to headline MLS bid at 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. |

According to AS , by participating in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™, Inter Miami received a participation bonus of 9.5 million USD .
With a win and two draws in the group stage, they earned an additional $4.2 million . More importantly, reaching the round of 16 guaranteed Inter Miami an additional $7.9 million , bringing their total prize money for the tournament to a total of $21.6 million .
That's enough to cover a large portion of the annual salary of Lionel Messi, MLS's highest-paid player. Compared to other MLS representatives like LAFC and Seattle Sounders, who have been eliminated, Inter Miami is the pride of the American professional league.
The huge prize money from FIFA not only helped Inter Miami improve their finances but also motivated them to continue investing in their squad and infrastructure. Inter Miami became the first MLS team to advance to the knockout stages of the FIFA Club World Cup.
They even became the first CONCACAF team to go 3 consecutive matches unbeaten in a FIFA Club World Cup. Before Inter Miami, CONCACAF teams were mostly poor in the Club World Cup.
Earlier, coach Javier Mascherano's team became the first MLS team to win the FIFA Club World Cup. They also became the first CONCACAF club to defeat a European opponent in an official tournament.
