Mr. Y Doan Eban (born in 1972) and his wife in Trap village, Buon Trap town are one of the families caught in the vicious cycle of "many children - poverty". His family has 8 children, most of whom dropped out of school, went to work for hire and got married without having a stable job. The fourth daughter, H'Dao Enuol (born in 2000), dropped out of school and got married when she was in 10th grade. Ironically, H'Dao's husband unfortunately died early in an accident, leaving behind 3 young children and all the worries and burdens of life on H'Dao's young shoulders. To have money to take care of her children, H'Dao had to send her 3 children to her parents to take care of and go to work for hire everywhere.

Ms. H'Ban Nie Kdam, Head of the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Department of Krong Ana district (right cover) propagates and mobilizes students not to drop out of school early.

Looking at his three young grandchildren, Mr. Y Doan sadly said: “When H'Dao said she wanted to quit school and get married, my husband and I tried our best to stop her, advise her, and explain to her that getting married early without a proper education would be very difficult, but she didn't listen. They loved each other, so we had to get married. Now she is suffering a lot, not knowing what the future will be like.”

Mr. Do Dinh Mien, Head of Trap village, said that the whole village currently has 595 households with 3,651 people, of which 50% are ethnic minorities. In previous years, there were several cases of early marriage in the village. When receiving information, the Party Committee and village organizations went to the families to propagate, mobilize, and clearly analyze the consequences of underage marriage and early childbirth, which not only affect the mother's health, but also cause children to be susceptible to many diseases and disabilities. Authorities at all levels and branches also opened many training courses on reproductive health care, education , and dissemination of laws on marriage and family, and domestic violence for people in the village. Thanks to that, the situation of early marriage in Trap village has decreased significantly, and no new cases have been recorded since 2024.

Krong Ana district currently has 8 commune-level administrative units, including 26 ethnic minority villages in 6 communes and towns. The whole district has 30 ethnic groups living together, ethnic minorities account for 27% of the district's population. In previous years, the situation of early marriage, marriage from the age of 14 - 15 or cousins marrying each other still occurred in ethnic minority villages.

Ms. H'Ban Nie Kdam, Head of the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Department of Krong Ana district, said that in order to reduce the situation of early marriage and incestuous marriage among ethnic minorities in the area, in recent years, the entire political system of Krong Ana district has actively participated.

Implementing Sub-project 2, Project 9, National Target Program on Socio -Economic Development in Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2030 Period (National Target Program 1719) on reducing child marriage and consanguineous marriage in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of Krong Ana district has focused on implementing rich and diverse forms and contents of propaganda, suitable for ethnic minority villages, especially in remote areas such as: distributing leaflets, showing mobile films...

In addition, the Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs also regularly organizes training sessions, provides knowledge about marriage and reproductive health care for students, and promotes and encourages them not to drop out of school early...
