Hung Yen: Promoting effective propaganda through social networks

Social networks are becoming an effective and fast propaganda channel, reaching a wide range of people. In Hung Yen province, many communes, wards, agencies and units have been creative and proactive in applying this method, turning social networking sites into "extended arms" of the local government. Fanpages not only provide timely information on policies and guidelines, but also allow the Party Committee, government and people to listen, interact and answer questions, creating consensus in the community.

Ms. To Thi Thanh Huyen, an officer of the Department of Culture and Society, the page's administrator, said: The page not only posts self-produced news and articles but also shares official information from the Central and provincial levels. The content focuses on the activities of the Party Committee, government, Fatherland Front and practical information for people such as weather warnings and administrative procedure settlement procedures. Thanks to the attractive presentation and timely information updates , it has received many views and shares, helping the information spread widely. This is also an effective channel to receive and handle people's opinions.

Since July 1, 2025, the fanpage "Tan Thuan Commune, Hung Yen Province" has become an effective information channel, attracting nearly 2,500 likes and followers.   According to Ms. Phan Thi Ngan Phuong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Commune Party Committee: After just over a month, the page has played a positive role in disseminating the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and local political tasks, especially information about Party congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term.

The effectiveness of propaganda on the commune's fanpage has contributed to strengthening the trust and consensus of cadres, party members and people in the leadership of Party committees and authorities at all levels; at the same time, strongly encouraging patriotic emulation movements, towards welcoming the 14th National Congress of the Party.   Mr. Nguyen Van Tinh, a resident of Tan Thuan commune, said:   Since having the commune's fanpage, I can easily update the commune's announcements and plans right on my phone. Administrative procedures are now very convenient, just read on the page to understand, saving a lot of time.

Also building a fanpage quite early and operating effectively and enthusiastically, the page "Hong Quang Commune Information - Hung Yen Province" is becoming an effective communication channel of the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of the commune. Information is updated daily on the activities of departments, branches, and organizations in the commune. Not stopping at propaganda work, informing about activities in the area, Hong Quang commune also takes advantage of social networks to introduce the models of Van HL1, HL2 Longan Cooperatives; good economic models, contributing to promoting local products and enhancing the brand.

According to Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang, An Thi commune: Although I am not a resident of Hong Quang commune, while looking for a delicious longan garden to buy as a gift on Facebook, I searched on the page "Hong Quang Commune Information - Hung Yen Province" and found a longan garden to buy, and at the same time introduced this longan garden to my friends.

Ms. Dao Thi Nguyen, an employee of the Hong Quang Commune Social and Cultural Service Center, shared: Initially, there were only a few dozen followers, but now the commune's fanpage has more than 1,100 followers. Many of them are children living far from home who are interested in local information. We have also received some feedback from the people, compiled reports and promptly responded. In the coming time, we will continue to improve the capacity of page management staff and actively update to meet the information needs of the people.

Actively connecting with people through social networks, propagating policies, up to now, many communes, wards, commune police, youth unions... of localities in Hung Yen province have built fanpages for propaganda. Currently, there are no regulations on the names of information pages, however, just by accessing the commune name on the search engine on Facebook, people can easily find information. In particular, most of the commune and ward police units of Hung Yen province have their own fanpages.

Along with setting up fanpages, many communes and wards have also set up zalo groups to connect and transmit information between Party committees, authorities with Party cells, villages, residential groups, and households. This is a quick information channel to disseminate activities, vaccination plans, disease prevention, propaganda about health insurance, social insurance, as well as receive feedback from the grassroots. Mr. Nguyen Van Huu, a resident of Pho Hien ward, shared: I actively follow information on zalo of the ward police to grasp the security and order situation in the locality. From here, there are many incidents, warnings about security and order, so that we, the people, can raise our vigilance.

It can be seen that proactively applying social networks to propaganda work not only helps communes and wards in Hung Yen disseminate policies in a timely manner but also becomes an effective "bridge" between the Party Committee, government and people. From providing information, listening to feedback, to promoting local products, social networks are proving to be a versatile and useful tool if we know how to approach and use them properly and effectively. This is a right direction, contributing to building a strong grassroots government that is closer to the people in the digital age.
