Cooperation in developing semiconductor and high-tech supply chain in Vietnam

On the morning of April 1, Intel Products Vietnam (IPV) and the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park (SHTP) jointly organized the Strategic Components Supplier Conference to promote cooperation and develop the semiconductor and high-tech supply chain in Vietnam.

Conference overview

The conference was attended by Mr. Vo Van Hoan, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Ms. Susan Burns, Consulate General of the United States in Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Nguyen Ky Phung, Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park Management Board; Dr. Naga Chandrasekaran, Executive Vice President, Chief Technology and Operations Officer, General Director of Intel Foundry, along with the participation of leading domestic and foreign semiconductor component suppliers.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Naga Chandrasekaran expressed his joy that Intel's factory in Vietnam reached the milestone of producing 4 billion products by April 2025, affirming the important role of Intel's factory in Vietnam in the global supply chain. He pledged that Intel will continue to accompany the development of the semiconductor ecosystem in Vietnam.

“We acknowledge the efforts of the Vietnamese Government in developing infrastructure, creating favorable conditions for the expansion of the semiconductor industry. Since Intel Vietnam was established in 2006, we have built a supply network with 600 partners. This conference is an opportunity to expand the network and develop human resources, thereby promoting innovation in the semiconductor industry,” Dr. Chandrasekaran shared.

Susan Burns, US Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized that cooperation in the semiconductor industry is a bright spot in Vietnam-US relations. This conference, with the participation of more than 40 suppliers, affirmed the commitment of Intel and the US to develop a strong semiconductor supply chain in Vietnam, while promoting cooperation between the private sector and the government.

Ho Chi Minh City is committed to becoming the country's center of technology and innovation, with modern infrastructure and high-quality human resources, ready to attract investment in new industries such as semiconductors, chips, and electronic microchips.

Representatives of the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park (SHTP) pledged to provide maximum support to Intel in developing its supply chain and promoting the semiconductor industry in Vietnam. SHTP also requested Intel to continue training programs for high-quality human resources and strengthen cooperation with state management agencies to facilitate businesses.

The conference attracted many domestic and international component suppliers and semiconductor manufacturing enterprises.

The conference is part of a strategy to enhance Vietnam-US economic and technological cooperation, marking the bilateral relationship as the two countries celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025. This event contributes to enhancing the competitiveness of domestic suppliers, promoting investment and innovation, making Vietnam an important link in the global semiconductor and high-tech supply chain.
