More than 5,000 runners compete on the shores of Ha Long Bay heritage

(PLVN) - On June 29, in Ha Long City, the Ministry of Public Security coordinated with the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province to organize a mass running competition with the theme "Sharing a determination - For a drug-free community". This is one of the key activities in the program responding to the Action Month for drug prevention and control in 2025.

The 2025 “One determination - For a drug-free community” race in Quang Ninh attracted more than 5,000 athletes from many different backgrounds, ages, and provinces and cities. Among them, many families including fathers, mothers and children participated in the race. This shows that the race is not simply a sports movement, but more importantly, it shows the spirit of solidarity and cooperation of the political system and people in the work of preventing and combating drugs.

The program aims to widely propagate and spread to all classes of people about the harmful effects of drugs; thereby encouraging and motivating cadres, soldiers and people to actively respond to the movement of All people protecting national security.

Colonel Le Hong Van emphasized: "The running movement "One determination - For a drug-free community" is the inheritance and promotion of the ideology: "strong people, prosperous country" of President Ho Chi Minh, thereby propagating and raising awareness of cadres, soldiers and the whole population about the role of physical exercise, improving health, improving the quality of life, pushing back social evils, including drug abuse.

At the same time, it contributes to increasing the connection between the drug crime prevention and control force and the people, to join hands and unite to eliminate drug abuse, contributing to maintaining security and order, building a rich, prosperous and safe country."

Colonel Le Hong Van - Deputy Director of Quang Ninh Provincial Police called on each athlete to be a responsible member, actively participating in drug prevention and control propaganda with the message "Five No's" including: No trying; No keeping; No using; No covering up and No participating.

At the end of the 2025 "One determination - For a drug-free community" Run, the Organizing Committee awarded many prizes to individuals with high achievements in each competition distance. For the 5km distance: 2 first prizes worth 3 million VND/prize, 4 second prizes: 2 million VND/prize, 6 third prizes: 1 million VND/prize. The 10km distance has 2 first prizes (5 million VND/prize), 4 second prizes (4 million VND/prize) and 6 third prizes (3 million VND/prize).

The message of “Five Nos” includes: Do not try: absolutely do not be curious, do not try drugs even once, because just one try can lead to addiction. Do not keep: do not store or hide drugs in any form, including keeping them for others. Do not use: say no to all types of drugs, including “new” drugs disguised as drinks, foods, e-cigarettes, etc. Do not cover up: do not hide drug-related behavior of relatives and friends; must be responsible for reporting to protect them and the community. Do not participate: do not transport, buy, sell, assist or participate in any behavior related to drugs.
