Russia holds military parade today to celebrate Victory Day

This afternoon (May 9, Vietnam time), a military parade will take place at Red Square in the Russian capital Moscow, commemorating the 80th anniversary of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War.

The parade marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (May 9, 1945 - May 9, 2025) on Red Square began at 10:00 a.m. local time in Russia (2:00 p.m. Vietnam time). The Kremlin announced that 29 leaders and representatives of countries will attend the parade, including General Secretary To Lam .

According to Russian media, the event will open with the raising of the Russian flag and the Victory Banner. President Vladimir Putin will then deliver a speech, paying tribute to those who died in World War II.

At the parade, military units from Russia and 13 other countries (including Vietnam, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, Tajikistan, China, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan) will march through Red Square.

This will be followed by a display of military vehicles, accompanied by a display by the Russian Aerospace Forces with Su-25 aircraft spraying smoke in the colors of the national flag. A flight demonstration of MiG-29 fighters from the "Swallows" aerobatic team and Su-30SM fighters from the "Russian Knights" aerobatic team will take place...

Previously, on May 7, Russia held a rehearsal for the parade. Participating in the rehearsal were all the host country's formations and the formations of 13 guest countries. The Vietnam People's Army delegation participating in the Victory Day parade at Red Square included 68 official soldiers and 5 reserve soldiers from the 1st Army Officer School.
