For Trinh Thang, creativity does not originate from ideas or efforts, but from an “empty mind” – where there is no longer any interference or entanglement of the ego. In a pure consciousness, with a spirit of gratitude and giving, he holds a pen to draw, starts to complete, and then draws without stopping until the work takes shape on its own.
All 40 large-scale paintings were completed by him in just over a month – a persistent and dedicated creative journey.

Dr. Trinh Thang shared: “This series of paintings is large in size, so I painted it outdoors, and every day there were many neighbors and spectators coming to see it. From the first stroke until completion, I often did not think, painted without stopping, and continuously broke the attachment to the forms until I completely portrayed the core spirit of the Great Accomplishments, of Bodhicitta. Viewers will not find pure beauty according to conventional patterns but will feel each sacred message for themselves through each work. This is also the gift I want to express my gratitude to everyone."
Also at the opening ceremony of the exhibition “Bodhi Breath”, Dr. Trinh Thang introduced to the public the calligraphy and painting book “Echoes of the Holy Spirit” – a collection of nearly 200 works, crystallized from three recent solo exhibitions: “Vo” (2020), “Vibration from Nothingness” (2024) and “Bodhi Breath” (2025).

The book "Echoes of the Holy Spirit" by author Trinh Thang.
If “Vo” portrays the portraits of the Masters as an invitation to embark on a journey of transformation, “Vibration from Nothingness” brings diverse manifestations of the Venerables – as a source of encouragement and companionship for the next steps.
Coming to “Bodhi Breath”, large-scale works with complex, multi-layered structures continue to emphasize the dharma image of Great Accomplishments in life, making viewers pause to discover profound changes from within.
The book “Echoes of the Holy Spirit” carries a consistent flow, both connecting and guiding, helping art lovers improve their ability to enjoy and receive lessons about returning to their true nature through each painting. Stemming from the desire to spread spiritual and artistic values to the general public, Dr. Trinh Thang respectfully donated the book to the National Library of Vietnam.
