Overview of the workshop.
The workshop informed about the task of promoting the title and linking tourism product development, connecting the two global geoparks. Accordingly, the Dong Van Stone Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark was recognized in 2010; the Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark was recognized in 2017. The two areas have majestic landscapes, unique geology and geomorphology and have high potential for sustainable development.
In the period of 2020 - 2025, the 2 CVDTCs have closely connected and implemented many joint activities in connecting partners. At the same time, they regularly coordinate expertise, community education , heritage conservation, and design connecting tourism routes.
Regarding the partnership network of the 2 Geoparks, there are 130 officially recognized establishments, spread across many fields, contributing to creating a synchronous, high-quality tourism, service, and production ecosystem. The tourism industry of the 2 provinces has strengthened coordination, support, and promoted close links between stakeholders; worked together to build a transparent coordination mechanism, ensuring harmonious interests.
At the workshop, the partner units shared their operational situation and suggested some solutions to improve the quality of coordination such as: diversifying the package of experience activities; coordinating the supply of high-quality agricultural materials between the two localities; issuing a code of conduct and identification between partner units; building a destination for 2 Geoparks...
The Management Board of Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark and the Management Board of Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark agreed on a memorandum of cooperation including a number of contents: Exchange and share experiences in managing, building and developing the Global Geopark; cooperate in developing tourism products, building connecting experiential tourism routes; exchange of professional staff, learning experiences; cooperate in promoting and promoting tourism, improving understanding of the Global Geopark for students.
