The workshop was attended by leading experts from the Vietnam Cardiovascular Association; Hanoi Medical University and more than 150 medical staff from provincial and district hospitals.


At the workshop, the reporters from the Vietnam Cardiovascular Association, Hanoi Medical University, Cardiovascular Center, and the Provincial General Hospital presented two topics: Management of chronic coronary syndrome - from recommendations to clinical practice; Current status of cardiovascular disease management at Lao Cai Provincial General Hospital.

In particular, experts focus on clarifying clinical forms, assessing the possibility of coronary artery obstruction, confirming diagnosis and estimating the risk of events, and treatment methods for chronic coronary syndromes... to improve professional quality in the management of chronic coronary heart syndromes, limit the rate of patients requiring referral, and improve the quality of life for patients.

At the program, experts from the Vietnam Cardiovascular Association, Hanoi Medical University and doctors from the Cardiovascular Center, Provincial General Hospital examined, consulted and directly performed coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary intervention for 7 patients with chronic coronary syndrome.


Currently, each month, the Cardiovascular Center, Provincial General Hospital receives and treats nearly 6,000 cardiovascular patients, including about 900 cases of chronic myocardial ischemia, more than 900 cases of heart failure, and 300 cases after stent placement.


In recent times, the Cardiovascular Center, Provincial General Hospital has invested in many modern equipment such as: ABI atherosclerosis machine to measure ankle and arm blood pressure; Doppler ultrasound of the heart; Holter blood pressure, Holter electrocardiogram, DSA machine (digital subtraction angiography)... ensuring conditions for effective implementation of coronary angiography and intervention techniques at Lao Cai Provincial General Hospital.
