On the afternoon of June 20, in Hanoi, after nearly 2 working days with 10 in-depth discussion sessions, the 2nd National Press Forum 2025 officially closed.

In his closing speech at the forum, Mr. Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association highly appreciated the efforts, enthusiasm and dedication of nearly 70 speakers, bringing success to the 2nd National Press Forum.

According to the President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, looking at the extremely lively discussion sessions with no empty seats, it can be affirmed that the 2025 National Press Forum was successful beyond the expectations of the Organizing Committee.

Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh emphasized that in the context of the world changing strongly under the impact of digital technology , artificial intelligence and globalization, Vietnamese press is facing unprecedented challenges, while opening up great opportunities if it knows how to proactively adapt and innovate. In particular, the rise of social media videos and news based on individuals is a huge challenge, directly affecting mainstream press agencies.

However, the new era also brings many opportunities for the press to assert its leading role. In particular, the most necessary good thing right now in the context of AI prevailing and creating a huge amount of content, in order to preserve its existence and develop sustainably, the only solution is that the press needs to focus on content quality and core values, the press must redefine its mission, not to report the news the fastest, but to bring the deepest and most trustworthy value.

This is not only an intellectual space and dialogue for journalists across the country, but also a place to open up ways for the Vietnamese press to innovate and create in the spirit of Resolution 57 and Resolution 18, towards a truly professional, modern and humane press in the era of national development," said the President of the Vietnam Journalists Association.

Summarizing the highlights as well as specific conclusions for each discussion session, Mr. Le Quoc Minh especially emphasized the 10th discussion session of the Forum with the very hot topic "Resolution 18 and the requirement for innovation in press personnel".

Resolution 18, with the goal of streamlining the political system, has required the press to be "leaner" to be "stronger". However, streamlining is not just about merging, reducing numbers or cutting staff. It is also a story about how we streamline to optimize resources, reduce waste and improve operational efficiency.
