After more than 1 month of concentration and training, the Vietnam U20 women's team is preparing to enter the 2026 Asian U20 Women's Qualifying campaign.

According to the draw results, Vietnam U20 women's team is in group B as host, with opponents: U20 Kyrgyzstan, U20 Hong Kong (China) and U20 Singapore.

Coach Okiyama Masahiko said that the U20 women's team of Vietnam has completed the plan of the coaching staff. The team also had a training trip and friendly match in Japan for the players to learn. "I appreciate the recent preparation process. Currently, no one on the team is injured. I personally do not feel pressured and our goal is to reach the final round."

When asked if he was worried about the preparation of his opponents in the same group, coach Okiyama Masahiko said that the whole team is focusing on preparing the best and will compete with the highest spirit and determination, always respecting the opponents.

He also shared: "The selection of players for the National Team is the right of the Head Coach, but we will give advice to the National Team because the biggest goal is the goal towards the players, whichever is most beneficial for the players we will respond to."

Captain Luu Hoang Van Cac said that although the teams in Group B are very strong, the Vietnam U20 women's team has been well prepared. "We have a clear goal and will try to achieve that goal. I have competed with my seniors, learned a lot from spirit to playing style, and together we overcame all difficulties with solidarity," Luu Hoang Van shared.

This year's qualifying round brings together 33 teams, competing from August 2 to 10, 2025, competing for 11 tickets to the Final Round in Thailand in 2026. The teams are divided into eight groups, including seven groups of four teams and one group of five teams, competing in a round-robin format.

The group winners and the three best runners-up will join host Thailand in the top 12 teams participating in the 2026 AFC U20 Women's Championship.
