Ms. Nguyen Hai Duyen Anh wants the best coffee beans to be enjoyed by Vietnamese people. |
• FIRST PRIZE IN SPECIALTY COFFEE COMPETITION
“Developing An Coffee Farm has been a challenging but also extremely interesting journey. We started from hardship but with perseverance, now An Coffee Farm has built a fine Robusta garden in Lam Ha land”, Ms. Nguyen Hai Duyen Anh, founder of An Coffee Farm, began the story.
That journey started with the first step of taking over her family's nearly 40-year-old coffee garden. Ms. Duyen Anh said that when she decided to choose the path of making high-quality coffee with the first characteristic of picking each ripe fruit, she had to convince her family to destroy all the old varieties of trees and plant purple bud coffee varieties that are more suitable for easier harvesting. After 13 years of growing and applying sustainable farming methods, the ripe fruits in the garden today are proof of the change in thinking and valuable lessons she received while pursuing her dream of high-quality coffee. "In the entire process of making high-quality coffee, every step is important, from choosing the variety, the time of picking, the weather, fermentation, temperature control, and pH are all very important and strict. My job is to try my best to have the best coffee samples, bringing customers the best experiences," Ms. Duyen Anh said.
To accurately assess the quality of her coffee, Ms. Duyen Anh has repeatedly brought Lam Ha coffee to international exhibitions and tasting sessions with experts and customers from many places around the world . Processing each coffee bean herself from the very first days has made the girl born in 1988 more confident that specialty coffee will be the trend of the future. At the same time, she is determined to contribute to changing the position of Vietnamese coffee by actions towards sustainable development and spreading Vietnamese coffee culture globally.
In 2025, An Coffee Farm sent Robusta coffee samples to the 2025 Vietnam Specialty Coffee Competition in Buon Ma Thuot - a competition that has affirmed its reputation by strictly following the standards and evaluation process, as well as the evaluation team being leading experts and international award-winning experience. With 86.46 points, the excellent product won the First Prize. These are Robusta coffee beans processed using the natural method, microbial fermentation, grown at an altitude of 980 m on an area of 3 hectares since 2020. In particular, the coffee is fermented with bananas, one of the agricultural products grown in large quantities in the Lam Ha and Dam Rong areas.
• HAPPINESS IN MAKING COFFEE
Many people believe that coffee makes people happy, but for Nguyen Hai Duyen Anh, happiness comes from making coffee. Starting when the specialty coffee wave was just starting, the young woman had to spend all her time focusing on the coffee path, aiming to bring highland coffee beans firmly to the market.
Born into a family with a tradition of growing and purchasing coffee from local farmers, Ms. Duyen Anh seems to understand the psychology and hardships of farmers. When holding ripe coffee beans that have been cared for by her and her colleagues, Ms. Duyen Anh and her colleagues have carefully and meticulously studied each coffee processing method to filter and bring out the best of the coffee beans...
