Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Blood Donation, affirmed the role and importance of blood and blood products in emergency care and treatment of patients. Blood donation not only brings life but also brings practical benefits to the blood donors themselves.
He suggested that in the coming time, the Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front and socio -political organizations, and the Steering Committees for voluntary blood donation at all levels should strengthen propaganda about the purpose and significance of blood donation; pay attention to expanding advanced models in the voluntary blood donation movement. At the same time, the Provincial Red Cross Society needs to strengthen close coordination with the Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations, communes and wards after implementing the 2-level government model to continue to effectively organize voluntary blood donation campaigns.
At the program, the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee called on all civil servants, public employees, armed forces, youth union members, workers and people across the province to join the voluntary blood donation movement, actively participate in blood donation in the spirit of "Voluntary blood donation activities are both a responsibility, a duty, and an "order" from the heart of each person".
The festival attracted a large number of civil servants, public employees, armed forces, and people to register to donate blood. Through health check-ups and blood screening tests, 1,352 people donated blood, equivalent to 1,352 units of blood. The received blood will be transferred to the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion to separate blood components and distribute to hospitals and medical centers in the province to serve the treatment and care of patients.
During the program, the Provincial Steering Committee for the Red Journey Movement received a commemorative medal from the Central Steering Committee for the Red Journey and received support from units and businesses. On this occasion, the Red Journey Organizing Committee organized many activities such as: offering incense at the Memorial Site of President Ho Chi Minh , the monument of comrade Hoang Van Thu; visiting and giving gifts to 20 patients with congenital hemolytic disease (Thalassemia). at the Provincial General Hospital; organizing a cultural night to welcome the Red Journey 2025 and responding to the Blood Donation Festival "Red Drops of Lang Son"...
It is known that this is the 12th consecutive year that Lang Son province has organized the Red Journey blood donation program. Over the years, with the attention of all levels and sectors, and the active response of the people, the Red Journey programs have been implemented on a large scale, contributing to the strong spread of the voluntary blood donation movement in the area and limiting the shortage of blood for emergency and treatment.
