Hundreds of medicine blister packs thrown into landfill in Da Nang

Hundreds of Ceteco Cenzitax tablets used to prevent motion sickness and vestibular disorders, with an expiration date of more than 1 year, were thrown away at a spontaneous roadside dump.

On June 10, from a report from the people, the Lien Chieu district authorities recorded a large quantity of Ceteco Cenzitax medicine and empty bottles (suspected to contain medicine) without labels, discarded at a spontaneous landfill on Xuan Thieu 21 street, near Nguyen Tat Thanh coastal road, Hoa Hiep Nam ward.

At the scene, hundreds of empty dark brown bottles were found mixed with hundreds of blister packs and trash in a sparsely populated area. The blister packs read Cetece Cenzitax Cinarizin 25 mg, USA Marketed by Ceteco pharma USA, showing the name and distribution market. Many blister packs have an expiration date until August 2026.

By this afternoon, June 10, the market management force and the police had drawn up a record and collected all of the above drugs. Counting is underway. Authorities will take samples for testing and investigate the origin of the above drugs to handle them according to regulations.

Cetece Cenzitax belongs to the antihistamine group to reduce motion sickness, vestibular disorders with symptoms of dizziness, tinnitus, nausea... To avoid side effects, patients need to follow the instructions of a doctor or pharmacist.

Four days ago, Ho Chi Minh City authorities seized thousands of boxes of medicines and dietary supplements for children and women with labels and expiration dates of 2026 and 2028, which were dumped in a pile on an empty lot next to Nguyen Van Linh Street in Binh Chanh District. Police are investigating signs of counterfeit goods.
