Spreading positive energy in the LGBT+ community

VietPride is one of the important events of the LGBT+ community (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and other gender identities) in Vietnam.

This is the 12th year VietPride has been held in Ho Chi Minh City. After 11 years of organization, the activity has developed into VietPride Week Ho Chi Minh City 2024, becoming the longest event series lasting 8 days (from September 21 to 29) with the most programs ever.

This year's event has the theme "It's Time", VietPride 2024 hopes to raise public awareness of equal rights and respect for all people, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

At around 4pm, the main event "Rainbow Parade" began. A large number of young people, foreigners, and tourists dressed in colorful rainbow costumes interacted and paraded along Nguyen Hue walking street.

Lewis (American tourist) shared: "I find young people in Vietnam very open. I had a great time chatting with friends in the LGBT+ community. I feel happy for them because in Vietnam they have a happy life and are given the opportunity to shine and develop themselves."

Excitedly sharing, Minh Hanh (living in District 4) said that she was very happy to receive encouragement and help from the community and society, helping her to no longer be self-conscious and to improve herself more and more.

Not only is VietPride an opportunity for the LGBT+ community to be proud of themselves, it is also an opportunity for people outside the community to better understand, sympathize with and support diversity. The event attracts not only people in the LGBT+ community, but also many social organizations, individuals and families who want to contribute to positive change.
