South Korea: Plane carrying 176 people catches fire

(Dan Tri) - According to Yonhap, all 169 passengers and 7 crew members on the plane were evacuated in time.

According to Yonhap , on January 28, a passenger plane caught fire at Gimhae International Airport in Busan city, southeastern South Korea, forcing the evacuation of more than 170 passengers and crew members.

The Air Busan plane, which took off from Gimhae International Airport in Busan, about 320km southeast of Seoul, bound for Hong Kong, caught fire in the tail before takeoff at around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday (local time), or 8:30 p.m. Vietnam time, the South Korean fire agency said.

Fortunately, all 169 passengers and 7 crew members on board were evacuated via inflatable slides and no injuries were reported.

The fire started at the tail of the plane but appeared to have spread to the fuselage.
