Landslides following the 6.3 and 5.3 magnitude earthquakes in Bajhang district, which borders India, have cut off roads to the southern plains, Nepal's Home Ministry official Rama Acharya told Reuters.

The two earthquakes, centered in Talkot and Chainpur, occurred 30 minutes apart on the afternoon of October 3 (local time).

One of the injured was hit by a falling object, and several houses in Chainpur collapsed, said local official Narayan Pandey.

The earthquake in Nepal was so strong that it was felt as far away as the Indian capital New Delhi, where people rushed out of their homes and office buildings in case of damage. There were no reports of damage, according to Reuters.
