According to the organizers, the conference is part of the third APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC 3) meeting week, which takes place from July 15 to 18. The event brings together top business leaders from 21 member economies to discuss key trade and investment issues in the Asia- Pacific region.
At the conference, investors will be introduced in detail to the potential, advantages and strategic investment opportunities in Hai Phong .
The focus of attention is on plans to establish a free trade zone, a strategic competitive advantage that opens up new development space for the city.

The free trade zone offers unprecedented policy mechanisms, such as preferential corporate income tax rates, visa exemptions and long-term temporary residence cards for experts and their families, and maximally simplified investment procedures.
These are direct competitive advantages, helping Hai Phong become the most attractive destination in the region for high-tech projects, research and development (R&D), and international financial services.
The highlight of the conference was the ceremony to grant investment registration certificates to 32 investment projects and 7 memorandums of understanding on cooperation, with a total committed capital of more than 15.6 billion USD.
These projects are expected to create far-reaching impacts, shaping the city’s economic future. Industrial park infrastructure development projects include Tan Trao, Ngu Phuc, Thuy Nguyen, Tran Duong - Hoa Binh , Tien Lang airport, Binh Giang, Hoang Dieu, Kim Thanh 2 and component projects in the industrial park with a total investment of nearly 10 billion USD.
This will contribute to the formation of modern, high-tech industrial complexes, creating tens of thousands of jobs, expanding industrial space, promoting urbanization and socio-economic development for localities.
The investment project for berths 9, 10, 11, 12 of Lach Huyen port, with an investment capital of nearly 1 billion USD, helps improve customs clearance capacity, affirming Hai Phong's position as the leading logistics center in the region.
High-tech FDI projects such as Shin-Etsu and investment cooperation memorandums to develop important transport and urban projects with a total capital of nearly 5 billion USD. This is evidence of the shift to attracting investment in depth, while opening up new and broader cooperation opportunities between Hai Phong City and strategic partners.
