In particular, the peak capacity (Pmax) set at 9:40 p.m. on June 2 was 5,558 MW, the highest in history and an increase of 5.6% compared to the peak capacity in 2024.
With the goal of providing safe, continuous and stable electricity, Hanoi Electricity Corporation (EVNHANOI) has implemented synchronous solutions to improve the quality of technical management and operation of the power system.
In the first 5 months of the year, the Corporation started construction of 5 110/220 kV projects and energized 5 110kV projects. For the medium and low voltage grid, EVNHANOI energized 116 projects with a total main equipment capacity put into operation of 95 MBA/39.4 MVA; 187.3km of medium voltage lines and 631.1km of low voltage conductors.

Mr. Tran Thanh Sang, Head of Power Management Team 2, Ba Dinh Power Company said that to ensure stable, safe and continuous power supply in the summer, especially during peak hours of power consumption, the unit regularly checks current measurement, thermal imaging, connection points on the grid... If any risks of causing incidents such as overheating are detected, the group of workers will have to handle them immediately to avoid prolonged incidents.
During peak hot days, work can last until 2-3 am due to the need to continuously handle contact and phase reversal at many locations to ensure safe, continuous and stable power supply to serve customers in the area.
To meet the high demand for electricity during the summer peak, EVNHANOI requires power companies to review, update, analyze and evaluate load data by region and load characteristics, thereby forecasting loads close to reality, developing scenarios and appropriate power supply solutions at the unit; at the same time, focus on reviewing and strengthening grid operation management, calculating optimal operating methods.

In particular, during the peak hot days, EVNHANOI has directed units to strengthen and arrange on-duty forces; regularly review the load situation; continuously inspect and patrol to prevent incidents due to violations of the route corridor; and prepare materials, equipment and means to promptly handle situations that arise.
In addition to the efforts of the electricity industry, to join hands to ensure electricity supply in the hot summer of 2025, EVNHANOI recommends that customers use electricity economically and effectively, turn off unnecessary electrical equipment, limit the use of equipment during peak electricity consumption hours: from 12:00 to 15:00 and from 22:00 to midnight every day. At the same time, pay attention to the reasonable use of air conditioning (set at 26 °C or higher, use in combination with fans) and should not use many high-capacity electrical equipment at the same time...
