Tran Ninh Commune, Van Quan District is a purely agricultural commune, the people's economy mainly depends on agricultural and forestry production. In order to continue to proactively provide irrigation water for people's production, in 2024, from capital sources under different programs, Tran Ninh Commune will invest in building 3 irrigation works including 1 pumping station and 2 construction works, upgrading over 1,500 m of canals (capital source over 3 billion VND).
Mr. Hoang Van Vinh, Chairman of Tran Ninh Commune People's Committee, said: From the investment resources of the State and the joint efforts of the people, up to now, the commune has 20 irrigation works, of which 5.2/7.3 km of canals have been solidified, the area of active irrigation for production has reached 86.9%. Not only creating favorable conditions for agricultural production, investment in small irrigation works and intra-field irrigation also directly contributes to helping the commune complete the criteria on irrigation and disaster prevention in new rural construction. In addition to the State's investment resources, from 2021 to present, on average each year, people in the province have contributed about 80,000 laborers to join hands to repair, dig, dredge, and clear canals...
From the State's investment resources and the joint efforts of the people, up to now, the province has built 2,364 small irrigation works and intra-field irrigation works. These irrigation works serve irrigation for over 6,667 hectares/crop, with an irrigation capacity of 88% compared to the design. In addition, the development of small irrigation works and intra-field irrigation works directly contributes to the completion of irrigation and disaster prevention criteria in new rural construction. Up to now, 97% of communes in the province have met the irrigation and disaster prevention criteria.
In addition to the achieved results, currently, relevant levels and sectors continue to balance and integrate resources, strengthen propaganda, mobilize people's joint efforts to invest in construction and upgrading of small irrigation works and intra-field irrigation.
