Gyokeres is said to be ready to join MU. |
According to Foot Mercato , Gyokeres said no to the huge €35 million salary proposed by Al-Hilal. The Saudi Pro League club was willing to pay Sporting €70 million to recruit the Swedish striker, but Gyokeres decided to stay in Europe and aimed to move to the Premier League to play football.
Sporting spent 20 million euros to recruit Gyokeres from Coventry City in 2023. His value skyrocketed after two excellent seasons. Due to the huge interest, Sporting insisted on a price of at least 70 million euros to sell this player.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and AC Milan are keeping a close eye on the situation, but may balk at the high asking price. Meanwhile, Al-Hilal are still looking to sign big stars after failing to sign Victor Osimhen and continue to target top names such as Bernardo Silva and Darwin Nunez.
Givemesport said Gyokeres is ready to reunite with coach Ruben Amorim at MU, even if he cannot participate in the Champions League next season. However, the "Red Devils" must meet the transfer fee of 70 million euros as requested by Sporting CP.
The 27-year-old striker finished the 2024/25 season as Portugal’s top scorer, with 39 goals in 33 games. He also made a big impression in the Champions League, scoring six goals in eight games. Despite Al-Hilal’s huge wages, Gyokeres’ heart is set on competing in Europe’s top flight.
