According to TechSpot , technology giant Google has just announced its commitment to invest more than 100 billion USD in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) in the near future, far exceeding the investment level said to be that of competitor Microsoft.
This information was revealed by Demis Hassabis, founder of DeepMind, a leading AI research company acquired by Google in 2014. Speaking at the TED conference in Vancouver (Canada), Hassabis said Google will spend this huge capital to develop advanced AI technologies and apply them to many different fields.
Google is expected to spend hundreds of billions of dollars on AI.

Google’s goal is to surpass Microsoft in the race to develop AI, especially in the field of artificial generative intelligence (AGI) – a type of AI that can learn and perform tasks like humans. Microsoft is reportedly investing $100 billion in the Stargate project, a supercomputer designed to advance AGI research.
However, Hassabis believes Google can surpass Microsoft thanks to its abundant financial resources, world- class AI talent pool, and close collaboration with DeepMind.
A significant portion of Google’s investment will likely go toward developing new AI hardware, such as the recently announced Arm-based Axion chip, which is designed to improve performance and energy efficiency for AI training and cloud services.
In addition to hardware, Google will also focus on developing new machine learning algorithms and improving AI's learning capabilities through Social Learning. This can help AI become smarter and more flexible, able to adapt to many different situations and circumstances.
Google's commitment to investing heavily in AI shows how important this field is to the company's future. AI is expected to bring many benefits to humans in areas such as healthcare, education , transportation, manufacturing, and many others.
However, the development of AI also has many potential risks, such as the risk of AI being misused for malicious purposes or AI being able to replace humans in some industries.
