On September 3, Saigon University and Soul And Skills Media and Education Services Company Limited, Asia Creative Education Joint Stock Company signed a three-party cooperation agreement on organizing a training program on artificial intelligence (AI) teaching methods according to international standards and STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) teaching methods in English for teachers.

Accordingly, the international standard AI curriculum lasts 40 hours and the STEM teaching method program in English lasts 24 hours. Both courses aim to equip teachers with basic knowledge, modern pedagogical skills and practical ability, helping teachers confidently apply STEM to English as well as bring AI into schools, thereby contributing to improving the quality of education.

The courses are expected to be designed in a modern, advanced manner, closely following the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, helping teachers easily absorb and apply them when teaching.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that in response to the increasing demands of the people, the city’s education sector must continuously innovate, be creative, and even be ahead in some areas. With AI teaching, the city determined that it must start with teacher training colleges to have enough resources.

According to Mr. Hieu, the city has more than 3,000 educational institutions. Some schools have applied AI in teaching, but only a portion of students have benefited. The city’s education sector hopes that this activity will soon be implemented formally, with proper investment and a team of formally trained teachers.

Regarding the AI ​​training plan for teachers, the Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training said that in the short term, it cannot be implemented simultaneously throughout the city, but will focus on a number of mature units and gradually expand. The Department will widely deploy AI training activities for teachers using the city budget, so that students have fair and equal access to AI.
