How was Mr. Liu Xiu Bao elected as President of the Vietnam Boxing Federation?

The President of the Vietnam Boxing Federation (VBF) Luu Tu Bao is "missing", making fans worried. The competent authorities are actively verifying the incident. How was Mr. Tu Bao elected to the highest position?

On October 15, 2023, the 2nd National Congress of VBF took place in Ho Chi Minh City, marking an important turning point in the organization and development orientation of national boxing.

The most notable result at the Congress was that Mr. Liu Xiubao was elected by 100% of delegates to hold the position of President of the Federation for the second term (2023–2028).

The congress held in October 2023 gathered delegates from boxing units nationwide. The main content of the congress was to summarize the activities of the first term, discuss the development strategy for the next period and elect a new Executive Committee of 27 members. In which, Mr. Luu Tu Bao was trusted to hold the role of chairman - a leading position in planning and promoting the Vietnamese boxing movement in the new period.

The congress also elected five VBF Vice Presidents at that time. The completion of the new leadership structure was expected to open up a more effective direction for Vietnamese boxing, both in terms of movement and professional achievements.

However, two years after the congress, VBF is facing a problem with its upper-level personnel. Mr. Liu Xiu Bao has been in the US taking care of family matters since February 2025 and has not returned to Vietnam. It is very possible that Mr. Bao is involved in some incident that the authorities in Vietnam are verifying.
