Airfare prices increase on National Day holiday September 2

On August 17, information from ticket offices said that domestic airfares are at a high level in the run-up to National Day, September 2.

In particular, ticket prices for the HCMC - Hanoi route increased sharply for flights from August 28 to September 2.

On peak days of August 28 and 29, ticket prices for good hours can reach over 7.6 million VND/round-trip ticket; early morning or night flights cost around 4.5 million VND/round-trip ticket. Some tourist flights from Hanoi to Da Nang and Nha Trang also have very high ticket prices. Specifically, the lowest price for the Hanoi - Nha Trang route is around 6 million VND/round-trip ticket; the highest price is around 7.5 million VND/round-trip ticket; the Hanoi - Da Nang route costs 3.5-5.2 million VND/round-trip ticket; the Hanoi - Phu Quoc route costs 5.4-8 million VND/round-trip ticket.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has requested airlines to sell tickets within the price range, strictly control ticket sales activities of agents; add and increase flights on routes with high demand, especially flights to and from Hanoi; and limit flight delays and cancellations.

* Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company has just announced the transportation service plan at its affiliated bus stations during the National Day holiday on September 2 this year. Accordingly, the number of passengers and vehicles during the upcoming National Day holiday is expected to increase from the afternoon of August 28 to August 30 on both departure and arrival directions, with the peak on September 1 and 2, gradually decreasing on September 3 and 4.

At Giap Bat Bus Station, the highest number of passengers on peak days is about 20,000 departures/day, about 10,000 return trips/day, an increase of 350% compared to normal days, with an expected number of 850-900 vehicles/day. At Gia Lam Bus Station, the highest number of passengers on peak days is about 5,000 departures/day, an increase of about 250% compared to normal days. At My Dinh Bus Station, the number of passengers on peak days is about 22,000 departures/day, about 12,000 return trips/day, an increase of more than 350% compared to normal days, with an expected number of more than 950 vehicles/day.

To meet the travel needs of people during the upcoming holidays, Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company will increase the number of passenger cars by about 1,000. This number of cars will be allocated by day and by route depending on the increase in the number of passengers; at the same time, it is proposed that the Hanoi Department of Construction temporarily issue 700 additional car badges valid from August 28 to September 5.
