Contrary to the general trend, Mi Hong brand has adjusted its buying price. Specifically, Mi Hong listed the buying price at 124.9 million VND/tael, an increase of 100 thousand VND compared to the previous session. However, the selling price remains at 125.4 million VND/tael.
The remaining brands such as PNJ, Vietinbank Gold, Bao Tin Minh Chau and Phu Quy all maintained similar prices. Specifically, PNJ, Vietinbank Gold, Bao Tin Minh Chau all listed the buying price at 124.4 million VND/tael and the selling price at 125.4 million VND/tael.

World gold price, at 12:30 on August 22, 2025 (Vietnam time), the world spot gold price was at 3,326.8 USD/ounce. Today's gold price decreased by 10.5 USD compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate at Vietcombank (26,530 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 110.67 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Compared to the domestic SJC gold bar price on the same day (124.4-125.4 million VND/tael), the current SJC gold price is about 14.73 million higher than the international gold price.
The global gold market is slowing down, as investors are waiting for the important speech of the Chairman of the US Federal Reserve (Fed), Mr. Jerome Powell, at the Jackson Hole conference. This speech is expected to clarify the Fed's monetary policy roadmap, which will directly affect the value of the USD and precious metals.
Currently, spot gold prices are hovering around $3,335 an ounce, while US gold futures also fell slightly to $3,378.
Gold prices have been pressured by a stronger US dollar in the past two weeks. The dollar’s rise makes gold more expensive for international buyers. This comes as some Fed officials have signaled they are in no rush to cut interest rates, although markets are still betting on a cut.
