Gold price today 7-21 skyrocketed
At 9:00 a.m. on July 21, Vietnam time, the world gold price was traded at 3,356 USD/ounce, up 6 USD/ounce compared to the weekend.
Gold prices jumped as soon as the market opened, as predicted by investors and analysts conducted by Kitco last weekend.
Gold prices rose despite the US dollar remaining at multi-week highs. The US dollar index (DXY) on the international market is currently at 98.4 points.
With the trend continuing to rise, the world gold price is firmly maintaining above the psychological mark of 3,300 USD/ounce. In recent days, although this precious metal has repeatedly dropped to close to the threshold of 3,300 USD/ounce, the bottom-fishing demand and the need to buy gold as a safe haven continue to support the gold price to remain high.
A recent survey by the World Gold Council (WGC) of 73 central banks found that about 95% believe that countries will continue to increase their gold holdings in the coming year. Rising global gold prices are prompting central banks to increase their holdings of the precious metal to strengthen their national reserves.
