Durian price today June 15: Slight decrease due to heavy rain...

On June 15, the durian market saw some high-end varieties such as Musang King and Thai VIP decrease slightly compared to the beginning of the week, mainly due to the impact of prolonged rainy weather, causing the fruit quality to not meet standards.

According to records in the Mekong Delta, the price of Ri6 durian fluctuates widely from 25,000 - 60,000 VND/kg depending on the type. VIP type can reach the highest price in the region. Thai durian type A is commonly priced from 75,000 - 80,000 VND/kg, VIP A is up to 100,000 VND/kg. Musang King type A alone is recorded to fluctuate from 110,000 - 125,000 VND/kg, a slight decrease of 5,000 - 10,000 VND/kg compared to the beginning of the week.

In the Southeast region, the price of Ri6 durian remains unchanged, while Thai durian grade A is slightly higher than the Mekong Delta, at 80,000 - 85,000 VND/kg, VIP grade continues to hold its peak at 95,000 - 100,000 VND/kg. Musang King A is priced from 120,000 - 125,000 VND/kg, the highest in the domestic market today.

In the Central Highlands, the price of Ri6 durian type A is stable at around 44,000 - 46,000 VND/kg, while Thai durian type C - low quality - only fluctuates at 40,000 - 42,000 VND/kg, showing that consumption demand in this region is slowing down.

Faced with increasing demand from the international market, especially China, Dak Lak province is tightening management of durian growing areas and packaging facilities. The province currently has 266 coded growing areas, covering a total area of nearly 22,600 hectares, of which about 33% are currently being harvested.

In addition, 39 fresh fruit packing facilities and 11 frozen durian facilities have been approved for export codes by the General Administration of Customs of China.

Through on-site inspection, most of the growing areas and packing houses have complied with the requirements for log recording, pest monitoring and chemical residue treatment. However, some households have not fully implemented the standards such as: not thoroughly controlling quarantine pests (mealybugs, fruit flies), lacking storage areas for used pesticide packaging, or incomplete log recording.

As a result, some shipments, despite being given codes, were still returned or warned due to plant quarantine violations.
