Gia Lai summarizes the 2024-2025 school year and deploys tasks for the 2025-2026 school year

(gialai.gov.v) - On the morning of August 26, the Department of Education and Training held a conference to summarize the 2024-2025 school year, deploy tasks for the 2025-2026 school year, and honor excellent students of the 2024-2025 school year. The conference was held directly at the Provincial Conference Center, and connected online to the 2/9 Hall bridge (Pleiku ward) and 135 bridge points in communes and wards in the province.

Attending the conference at the Provincial Conference Center were comrades: Huynh Thuy Van - Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Lam Hai Giang - Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Ho Thi Kim Thu - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee. Also attending were the leaders of the Department of Education and Training; representatives of the provincial departments, branches and sectors; representatives of a number of universities and colleges in the area.

In particular, the Conference was attended by students with excellent achievements and awards in the 2024-2025 school year and nearly 500 students from high schools in the wards: Quy Nhon, Quy Nhon Dong, Quy Nhon Tay, Quy Nhon Nam and Quy Nhon Bac.

According to the report at the Conference, in the 2024-2025 school year, the quality of education and training at preschool and general education levels in the province will continue to be improved. The work of universalizing preschool education for 5-year-old children, primary education, lower secondary education and illiteracy eradication continues to receive attention.

The 2018 General Education Program was implemented synchronously with all subjects. General education institutions have promoted autonomy and proactively developed educational plans suitable to the practical conditions of the school. The quality of key education and comprehensive education continues to be affirmed through exams such as: National High School Excellent Student Exam, National Science and Technology Competition for High School Students, National Student Startup Idea Competition.

In the past school year, the provincial education sector has achieved many positive results: 101 students won prizes in the National High School Excellent Student Competition; 1,183 high school students and 514 middle school students won prizes in the provincial excellent student competition.

In the 2024-2025 High School Graduation Exam, Gia Lai province had 99.32% of students passing the graduation exam; the whole province had 44 high schools with a 100% graduation rate, and 327 students scored 10 points. At the same time, Gia Lai was in the top 10 localities with the highest average score in Information Technology in the country (7,098 points), and ranked 5th nationwide in the number of 10 points in English (04 points of 10).

At the Conference, delegates presented papers to clarify the results achieved in the past school year, share experiences and solutions in the process of implementing tasks for the 2024-2025 school year; at the same time, focus on setting out directions, tasks, goals and solutions for the 2025-2026 school year.

Speaking at the Conference, Vice Chairman of Lam Hai Giang Provincial People's Committee requested that in the 2025-2026 school year, the education sector should focus all resources to effectively implement preschool education, general education and continuing education programs. In particular, it is necessary to promote the initiative and flexibility of schools and the creativity of teachers in implementing the 2018 General Education Program, ensuring quality, efficiency and substance in accordance with the requirements of educational innovation.

The Vice President emphasized the need to focus on reviewing and overcoming difficulties and obstacles in the implementation of the 2018 General Education Program in the past time. At the same time, continue to pay attention and effectively implement the work of mobilizing children to go to school, ensuring a rate higher than the national average.

Along with that, the whole sector needs to pay attention to education in ethnic minority areas, border areas, and islands - both in terms of facilities and teaching staff; fundamentally improve learning and living conditions for both teachers and students. Implement the Project to build boarding and semi-boarding schools; at the same time, review and submit to competent authorities to adjust and supplement regimes and policies to attract teachers to teach in difficult areas.

The education sector also needs to effectively implement the STEM education project, combined with organizing extracurricular activities, creating fundamental changes, in line with the requirements and orientations of the Ministry of Education and Training. In addition, it is necessary to focus on improving the quality of foreign language and information technology education at all levels; continue to standardize and improve the quality of teachers and managers; implement the plan to recruit teachers who are still lacking, especially to overcome the shortage of teachers at preschool level.

Regarding the implementation of two-level local government, it is predicted that there will be initial difficulties. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Education and Training to regularly monitor and grasp the situation at educational institutions; closely coordinate with local authorities at the commune level to effectively implement state management of education in the area. At the same time, focus on improving digital transformation in the education sector, creating a breakthrough in teaching quality and school management efficiency.

Continue to build a repository of scientific materials and put it into exploitation and common use throughout the industry; research and deploy smart classroom and smart library models, aiming to improve training quality.

At the same time, the Conference honored students who were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Ministry of Education and Training for their high achievements in the National High School Excellent Student Competition for the 2024-2025 school year, along with students with outstanding achievements in the National Science and Technology Research Competition for middle and high school students for the 2024-2025 school year.
