According to the report at the conference, by the end of 2024, the whole province had over 478,681 hectares of natural forest and over 158,710 hectares of planted forest, with a forest coverage rate of 42%. Since the beginning of the year, there have been 3 fires in the province, fires in areas of unforested trees, and 1 fire in planted forests at the Dak Doa Protective Forest Management Board with an area of 0.45 hectares.
From December 11, 2024 to June 2, 2025, the authorities detected and handled 95 violations of the Forestry Law, a decrease of 24 cases compared to the same period in 2024. The area of deforested forest was 2,982 hectares, a decrease of 16,871 hectares compared to the same period last year. To date, the authorities have handled 63 administrative violations, 3 criminal cases and are verifying and handling 29 cases.
Regarding the replacement forestation work, up to now, the whole province has planted 255.97 hectares, reaching 59.4% of the approved area. In 2025, after review, the area eligible for replacement forestation is 730.21 hectares, the total funding requirement for implementation is more than 135.8 billion VND.
Speaking at the conference, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment Luu Trung Nghia requested units and localities to continue to better implement afforestation, forest allocation, forest leasing, and increase forest cover.
Besides, it is necessary to enhance the responsibility of forest owners and communities and promote the professionalism of the Forest Ranger force in forest management and protection.
