Latest pig price news
According to the Agriculture and Environment newspaper and information from the Department of Fisheries, Livestock and Veterinary Medicine of Hai Phong, in the first 5 months of 2025, the total herd of livestock and poultry in the locality maintained stable development, with no serious outbreaks of infectious diseases recorded.
Regarding African swine fever (ASF), from September 2024 to now, Hai Phong has controlled it well, with no new outbreaks occurring. With an estimated pig herd size of about 150,000, a slight increase compared to the same period last year, ASF prevention is still a high priority and must not be neglected.
Mr. Bui Van Luyen, Deputy Director of the Department, emphasized: “Raisers need to strictly comply with biosecurity measures and limit the entry of strangers into the breeding area. Tools used must be thoroughly disinfected and not shared between areas or brought in from outside without being treated.”
To effectively protect pig herds, the Department requires farms and households to thoroughly apply biosecurity measures, considering this the most important barrier against epidemics. Regulations on disease control must be strictly and synchronously implemented to prevent the risk of epidemic outbreaks.
