Cultural family: Contributing to local socio-economic development

After 25 years of the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" being implemented in the province, the construction of cultural titles, including the title of cultural family, has become increasingly systematic and achieved practical results. If in 2000, the whole province only had 50.7% of households meeting the cultural family standards, this rate is now 94%. Competing to build cultural families, households not only do well economically, maintain family traditions but also actively participate in local movements, contributing to socio-economic development, changing the face of rural areas and urban civilization.

Exemplary grandparents

At the age of over 70, Mr. Bui Dinh Lap, Thuy Hai commune (Thai Thuy) is still working enthusiastically, contributing with his family to the development of his hometown. As a member of the Vinh Tra fishing port security and order self-management team, he sets an example with the collective in protecting and maintaining security and order at the fishing port, and keeping the environment clean and beautiful. His wife, Ms. Dao Thi Thuy, in addition to her job as a seafood trader, also takes on the role of head of the residential area, regularly participating in propagating to families about the Party's policies and guidelines, the State's policies and laws, local regulations, implementing a civilized lifestyle, and complying with the village's conventions and community conventions. Mr. Bui Dinh Lap said: In the process of building a cultural family, I have learned that each family member needs to learn how to share, care and respect each other. My wife and I are always exemplary for our children and grandchildren to learn and follow. In addition to the time spent working, developing the economy , and promoting the role of the elderly in the family, we support our children in looking after, picking up and taking care of their grandchildren, creating the best conditions for them to grow up in love.

Together, striving to become a shining example for their children and grandchildren, Mr. Hoang Tho Cuong and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Quyet in Minh Khai commune (Vu Thu) not only have a simple lifestyle, are loved and admired by the villagers, but are also a good production and business household that has been awarded the title of cultural family for many consecutive years. Since 2008, the family has invested in service business. Together, thanks to constantly changing business strategies, diversifying product forms and designs to suit consumer tastes, the family not only has a high income but also creates regular jobs for many local workers with a stable average income of 9 - 10 million VND/month. With a harmonious marriage, the couple is one of the typical households in the locality not only because of the harmonious atmosphere and mutual support in a family of three generations with seven members living together, but also because of their efforts to develop the family economy, contributing positively to the development of the locality.

Mr. Tran Van Phuc said: With the support of his parents in taking care of their children, after working in many places, gaining experience and solid skills, the couple decided to return to their hometown to establish a printing workshop specializing in printing for the garment industry. Neighbors and local authorities have enthusiastically supported and created favorable conditions for the family to develop the workshop in the commune. Up to now, the family's printing workshop has created regular jobs for 10 local workers. The family's total income is about 800 million VND/year.
