Attaching traceability labels to nearly 200 Dai Minh specialty grapefruit trees

Yen Binh District ( Yen Bai ) has just deployed traceability labels for nearly 200 Dai Minh specialty grapefruit trees over 30 years old using the Vmark application.

This activity will help cooperatives and businesses clarify the origin of their products, enhance their competitiveness and develop their brands. At the same time, it will promote the brand, helping tourists and consumers easily find information about the products such as age, geographical coordinates, origin, related stories, etc.

Currently, Yen Binh district has over 1,000 hectares of grapefruit, mainly concentrated in Dai Minh and Han Da communes. The local government has mobilized people to improve the quality and value of products through agricultural production practices according to VietGAP standards; actively transferring science and technology to maintain and improve the quality of Dai Minh grapefruit. Thereby, Dai Minh grapefruit has now met the 4-star OCOP product standard.

Dai Minh grapefruit is a precious grapefruit variety discovered over 300 years ago. There are still many ancient grapefruit trees over 100 years old, known as "royal grapefruit" associated with the Nguyen family on the land along the Chay River, where the crowing of a rooster can be heard in the three provinces of Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang, and Phu Tho .

Every year, Yen Binh district often organizes the Dai Minh grapefruit festival with many activities such as beautiful grapefruit tree contest; beautiful grapefruit garden contest; grapefruit peeling contest, grapefruit presentation...

Dai Minh grapefruit in Yen Binh district has a yield of more than 9 tons/ha, a total output of nearly 8,500 tons, and a revenue of more than 80 billion VND/year. Yen Binh district is continuing to implement linkages according to the production value chain associated with the consumption of Dai Minh grapefruit products, promoting on e-commerce platforms, expanding the consumption market, contributing to increasing income for people and creating a stable position for the product in the market.
