According to the State Administration of Market Regulation, Toyota China and its two joint ventures in China, FAW Toyota and GAC Toyota, will recall about 570,000 vehicles produced between 2018 and 2023.
Specifically, the company's joint venture in China, FAW Toyota, recalled 350,021 Corolla vehicles manufactured from August 6, 2019 to July 11, 2023.
GAC Toyota recalls Highlander vehicles manufactured from October 13, 2018 to January 14, 2022, a total of 157,458 vehicles.
And finally, 68,434 imported Lexus RX vehicles manufactured from September 4, 2018 to September 6, 2022 were recalled by Toyota China.

Vehicles subject to the recall may have insufficient pressure on the internal components of the high-pressure fuel pump, causing wear to occur in the fuel pump resulting in a weld crack.
In case of serious damage, fuel may leak from cracks, increasing the risk of explosion if exposed to an external source of ignition. In addition, leaked and evaporated fuel also causes unnecessary emissions.
After the recall, FAW Toyota, GAC Toyota and Toyota Motor will inspect the high-pressure fuel pumps of the vehicles covered by the recall free of charge and replace any non-compliant parts free of charge to eliminate possible hazards.
Before recall and repair, affected vehicles should try to avoid sources of fire. If users detect a gasoline smell or fuel leak, they should stop using the vehicle and quickly contact the dealer for timely handling.
