EVN recommends that people be vigilant to avoid being harmed or exploited for bad purposes.
Recently, there have been cases of some bad guys taking advantage of information about local mergers and administrative boundary adjustments to commit fraud, impersonating Electricity employees and asking customers to provide personal information in order to defraud and appropriate customers' assets.
A common scam is for subjects to impersonate electricity employees, call customers with content related to the Electricity Company implementing the merger of units, asking customers to access the link provided by the subject to update electricity payment information at the new address after the Electricity Company implements the merger of units.
At the same time, they request to provide personal information, ask customers to text, install strange applications, make online calls with images through the application ( video -call) for easy instructions; the purpose is to steal personal information, bank accounts and then appropriate money in the customer's bank account...
To prevent fraud, EVN and Power companies would like to inform and advise customers as follows: EVN and Power companies do not require electricity customers to update personal information or access strange links via phone or text message. Therefore, people and customers should absolutely not provide account information, passwords, or OTP codes to anyone whose identity is unknown.
If you receive a suspicious message or call, please contact the Customer Care Center of the Power Corporation (by region) or report to the nearest police station to verify the information. EVN and the Power Corporations hope that customers and people will be vigilant to avoid being harmed or exploited for bad purposes.
