Road project over 70 billion behind schedule extended until end of 2024

On February 16, the Department of Transport of Dak Nong province said that the Provincial People's Committee has just issued a document agreeing to extend the project implementation period and contract implementation progress for the construction package of the project: Road from village 1 to the Mong ethnic minority area of Nam Tang village, Dak R'La commune, Dak Mil district to Cu K'Nia commune, Cu Jut district, Dak Nong province until the end of December 2024.

The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Dak Nong Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board (investor) to organize the implementation of procedures to adjust the project implementation time as a basis for adjusting the contract implementation progress and related contents according to regulations.

At the same time, the investor is required to direct the contractor to speed up the construction progress on schedule, organize acceptance, and hand over the project for use. The Department of Transport monitors and supervises the project implementation progress of the investor and is responsible for the accuracy and legal basis of the contents advised and proposed by the unit.

As Giao thong Newspaper reported in the article "People suffer because of the missed deadline of the 70 billion VND road", in 2021, the traffic road project from Dak R'la commune (Dak Mil) to Cu K'nia commune (Cu Jut) started construction. The project's goal is to create connectivity for remote areas of Dak R'la and Cu K'nia communes to trade and develop socio-economy .

However, since the commencement of construction, the project has not been completed. The road section through Nam Tang village is under construction, the road surface is sunken and deformed, seriously affecting the travel of the people. Especially in the rainy season, the road surface is plowed and muddy, making it impossible for people to travel or transport agricultural products.

The traffic project from village 1 to the Mong ethnic minority area of Nam Tang village (Dak R'la commune, Dak Mil district) to Cu K'nia commune (Cu Jut district) was approved by the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee for the contractor selection plan in February 2021, and started construction in September 2021.

The above project has a total investment of more than 71 billion VND from the local budget, the entire route length is 12km, invested according to grade VI road standards, with a roadbed of 3.5m concrete, reinforced 1.25m sidewalk on each side.

The project is invested by the Dak Nong Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board (DAMB). Package No. 9 is constructed by the joint venture of Thinh Thanh Dak Nong Company Limited and Thanh Cong Construction Company Limited.
