Member Truong Van Quang, born in 1943, Ha Quang commune, participated in the resistance war against the US to save the country. Currently, he is old, in poor health, unable to take care of himself, living with his children and grandchildren, but his family is facing housing difficulties, the current house is a dilapidated and damaged stilt house. Faced with that situation, the Provincial Veterans Association mobilized resources from the Central Association to build him a "War Veterans' Affection" house with a support budget of 80 million VND. The project started at the end of February 2025, after nearly 3 months of construction, it was completed and put into use. This is not only a warm home, but also the affection and gratitude of comrades for the former soldier.
In the joy of the house handover day, not only veteran Truong Van Quang was moved but also his relatives were filled with gratitude. Mr. Truong Van Luong, Mr. Quang's grandson, shared: With the help of veteran uncles, my family has a new solid house, I am very happy and joyful, from now on my family no longer has to worry about the house collapsing or leaking every time it rains, I can work and produce with peace of mind to have the conditions to take care of my grandfather's health and take care of my children's education.
In Trung Khanh commune, veteran association member Nong Van Vien, born in 1967, is in poor health, often sick, and his family is in difficult housing conditions. The provincial Veterans Association called for and received support from the Bac Ninh Provincial Veterans Association, with an amount of 60 million VND to help his family repair their old house. The project started in early June 2025 and is expected to be completed and put into use by the end of September.
In the house that is gradually being completed, Mrs. Trinh Thi Lanh, wife of veteran Nong Van Vien, said: Before, every time it rained, the family was worried. Now, receiving support from the Provincial Veterans Association and contributions from veterans of Bac Ninh province, the family sends their sincere thanks, considering this a valuable gift to help the family overcome difficulties, work with peace of mind, and stabilize their lives.
Promoting the tradition and qualities of “Uncle Ho’s soldiers”, the provincial Association of War Veterans has been contributing to the locality to effectively implement the poverty reduction target, focusing on the program of temporary housing and job creation for members. With the determination to not let any member live in temporary, dilapidated houses, the Association actively propagates and mobilizes cadres, members, people from all walks of life, and philanthropists to join hands to support the construction and repair of houses for War Veterans in the province.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial Association of War Veterans Nguyen Trung Bo said: Implementing the policy of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, the Party, the State, and the Government on completing the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025. The Executive Committee of the Provincial Association of War Veterans together with the branches, levels, and the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee combined with the support funds of the Party and the State to take advantage of all funds to create conditions for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses. All cadres and members promoted the sense of responsibility, raised the sense of self-reliance, solidarity, and unity with the spirit of "Whoever has something to contribute, whoever has merit contributes merit, whoever has property contributes property"; from 2023 to now, 350 temporary and dilapidated houses have been eliminated for poor cadres and members in difficult circumstances. In 2025 alone, 35 houses were supported to be eliminated from the Comradeship Fund and the Provincial Fund for Elimination of Temporary and Dilapidated Houses, with a total cost of over 2 billion VND. Mobilized over 1,200 working days to help members build and repair houses. At the same time, donated 40 sets of blankets and 40 pots worth 80 million VND to War Veterans Association members to inaugurate new houses...
From sharing, empathy and responsibility, the movement of XNT, NDN for CCB members has spread widely throughout the localities.
