Ta Dung - a remote commune of Lam Dong with over 85% of the population living on agriculture and forestry. The new rural program in Ta Dung has achieved many positive results in synchronizing rural infrastructure, improving people's lives. Typically, 100% of roads are concreted; 99.6% of households use electricity; 83% meet irrigation needs.
However, according to the assessment, the socio-economic development of the commune has not been commensurate with its potential. According to Mr. Tran Nam Thuan, Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, one of the reasons why the economy has not had a strong breakthrough is that planning activities have not yet met development needs, which makes it difficult to mobilize resources.
Faced with the new situation, with a larger commune scale, in order to promote the results and take advantage of opportunities, the commune is focusing on completing and adjusting the general construction planning of the commune until 2035. This is considered a premise and basis for the good implementation of other plans on socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and local security.
The commune focuses on leading the implementation of approved plans such as: Land use planning for the period 2021-2030; annual land use plan; construction planning; planning of 3 types of forests to improve the effectiveness of land management, forestry and construction work in the area.
Mr. Thuan emphasized that in order to develop a sustainable economy, Ta Dung determined to promote sustainable exploitation of natural resources, indigenous culture, agriculture to develop a multi-value rural economy, focusing more on tourism - considering tourism as a new driving force. Types of tourism economy are identified as sports , exploration, resorts, festivals, cultural exchange activities, gong performances, tourism associated with Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark...

When establishing new communes, adjusting the new rural planning is very necessary because the development space, potential and strengths have changed in a more positive and favorable direction.
In particular, the general motto is that we need to change the mindset of planning new rural areas. Commune planning is not only about infrastructure planning but more importantly, it is about shaping the rural economic area in a multi-sector, multi-professional, multi-field direction, harmonizing economic, social and environmental factors.
The Vice Chairman of the province said: Rural planning must be synchronous from infrastructure of transport, irrigation, health, culture, education, appearance of the countryside, material and spiritual life of rural people to be comprehensively improved.
How can the planning of new rural communes inherit, integrate, and utilize the strength and resources from sectoral and provincial planning, promote connectivity, inter-regional and inter-commune connectivity to create a sustainable development axis? Each commune can promote internal and external resources from the four major resolutions of the Politburo (Resolutions 57, 59, 66, 68) to help Vietnam take off, realizing the aspiration for rapid and sustainable development in the new era.
