Accordingly, the Department of Roads requires the above units to conduct inspections of all ferry terminals, pontoon bridges, ferry terminals and vehicles serving river crossings under their management; prohibit the organization of passenger transport across the river when storm No. 5 makes landfall and in bad weather conditions such as: thunderstorms, storms, and heavy floods.

In parallel with checking and assessing the condition of bridges in the affected area of storm No. 5, the Department of Roads noted that for cable-stayed bridges and weak suspension bridges, it is necessary to regularly monitor and prohibit people and vehicles from traveling when storm No. 5 makes landfall to ensure safety.

“Authorities must organize 24/7 guard duty and vigilance at key locations, areas under repair or at risk of insecurity; review the entire national highway system, local roads, areas with frequent landslides, falling rocks, prolonged deep flooding or high risk of traffic insecurity; absolutely do not allow people and vehicles to pass through dangerous areas without safety measures in place,” the leader of the Department of Roads directed.

For fixed transport routes, the Department of Construction directs transport enterprises to proactively adjust itineraries, departure times, and routes based on actual situations to avoid dangerous areas, prohibiting vehicles from entering storm-hit areas or areas that are being isolated or eroded.

Contract vehicles and tourist vehicles are strictly prohibited from organizing transportation into areas where there are warnings of heavy rain, floods, landslides, and deep flooding. Transport businesses must update weather information and coordinate with authorities to ensure absolute safety for passengers.

Bus stations in localities with natural disasters need to coordinate with local authorities and functional forces to strictly control departure activities, not allowing vehicles to depart into disaster areas, causing traffic safety risks./.
