According to the announcement on June 24 of Ho Chi Minh City National University, this time There are up to 17 visiting professors from many developed countries such as UK, France, Canada, Japan, Korea, Australia, Singapore with specialized fields such as information technology, artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductor chips and mathematics.
The VNU-HCM Visiting Professor Program aims to appoint 100 visiting professors in the 2025-2030 period.
Besides the technology sector, the remaining four candidates have deep expertise in the fields of biology, biotechnology, botany, ecology and environmental engineering.
According to VNU-HCM, these 21 professors will participate in teaching and research at affiliated member units such as the University of Technology, University of Natural Sciences, University of Information Technology, University of Economics and Law, An Giang University and the Institute for Circular Economy Development Research.
Some typical visiting professors include: Professor Han The Anh (Teesside University, UK) specializing in AI and multi-agent systems; Professor Tran Thanh Long (Warwick University, UK) specializing in AI; Professor Kiyofumi Tanaka (Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) specializing in digital infrastructure and Professor Ki-Ryong Kwon (Global Fintech Promotion Center in Busan, Korea) specializing in electronic engineering, computer engineering and AI.
To date, after three implementation phases, the VNU-HCM Visiting Professor Program has attracted a total of 49 professors from many countries and territories. The program aims to appoint 100 visiting professors in the 2025-2030 period, with about 50 visiting professors invited and appointed in the 2025-2026 period.
