(NLDO) - The second meteor shower of October, called Orionids, will be most intense on the night of October 21 and early morning of October 22, according to the location in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to Date and Time, on the night of the Orionids meteor shower's peak, observers can see about 20 shooting stars falling per hour.

The Orionids are one of the most unique meteor showers of the year. Not only does it contribute to the "double meteor shower," it's also the result of a familiar object whipping its tail of dust into Earth's atmosphere for the second time this year.

The Orionids are named after the place where the shooting stars appear to appear in the sky: the constellation Orion, or Orion, which means "hunter" in Chinese.

So to find the Orionids fireballs, you need to look towards the raised arm of the hunter constellation in the sky.

However, the real source of this meteor shower is Halley's comet, an object that orbits the Sun every 76 years.

Although Earthlings won't see the comet return until 2061, its long tail of dust still crosses Earth's orbit twice a year.

When this dusty tail hits the planet's atmosphere, fragments fall down to form meteors.

In May, Halley created the Eta Aquarids meteor shower, which radiated from the constellation Aquarius.

The Orionids is the second meteor shower to peak in October. It starts on October 2, gradually strengthens until its peak on October 21, and will gradually weaken and disappear completely after November 7.

Therefore, the Orionids had a period of falling parallel to the Draconids meteor shower from the constellation Draco (Dragon), creating a double meteor shower phenomenon from October 6 to 10.

To admire the Orionids, you should let your eyes adjust to the darkness for about 15-20 minutes, find a place with open space and hope for good weather.
