To form rich, beautiful and livable rural areas

Before the Government's National Target Program on New Rural Development (NTM), Dong Nai was among the top provinces in the country in terms of agricultural, farmer and rural development. Specifically, the province has invested in and supported localities in deploying and applying science and technology in agricultural production to increase productivity, quality and reduce product costs. Therefore, farmers' income from livestock and crop farming has continuously increased and the lives of rural people have been improved.

When the Government issued the National Target Program on New Rural Development, Dong Nai chose agricultural production as a breakthrough. Accordingly, the province requested each locality, depending on land and climate conditions, to select key crops and livestock to prioritize investment, apply science and technology to production, and encourage farmers to participate in innovation. Therefore, many localities have found good models and solutions in production. For example, Dinh Quan district has brought electricity to the fields, helping farmers proactively source irrigation water to increase crops. If previously farmers only produced 1-2 crops/year and relied on rainwater, when electricity was available, farmers produced 3 crops/year, with profits increasing by 1.5-3 times. With high incomes, farmers together contributed to building technical infrastructure, so their material and spiritual lives were improved. From there, green, clean, rich, and beautiful countrysides were formed.

Similarly, from a difficult locality, Xuan Loc district has chosen to make a breakthrough in agricultural development. The district has accompanied farmers in transforming the structure of crops and livestock, replicating good and highly effective production models. Farmers have used new high-yield varieties, many stages in production have been mechanized to reduce labor. Therefore, revenue from agricultural production has increased, with many farmers earning 200-400 million VND/hectare/year. Xuan Loc is also famous nationwide for having good models such as growing corn with a yield of 10 tons/hectare/year, pepper with a yield of 8 tons/hectare/year... There are farmers known as "corn king, pepper king". This is the foundation for Xuan Loc to always be at the forefront of the province and the country in building new rural areas, advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas.

In the 2021-2025 period alone, Dong Nai has invested more than 170 trillion VND in developing agricultural production to form commodity production areas that are eligible for export. There are agricultural models in Dong Nai that generate an income of 600-800 million VND/hectare/year. Agriculture has always been one of the important pillars in economic development, so the new Dong Nai province will continue to prioritize investment to form rich, beautiful, and livable rural areas.
