Perspective of the North-South Expressway Project, Western section, Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh |
The North-South Expressway Project, West, Gia Nghia (Lam Dong Province) - Chon Thanh ( Dong Nai Province) section, passes through Nha Bich Commune with a length of about 10km. The entire commune has more than 929,000 m² of land within the project scope; of which 262 plots of land of households and individuals must be cleared.

In order to create consensus among the people, on July 31, Nha Bich Commune People's Committee organized a meeting with more than 200 households whose land was recovered. At the meeting, after being fully informed about the scale and significance of the project, the majority of people agreed and supported the implementation of the project.
However, many opinions also suggested that the relevant agencies should consider and arrange a reasonable system of residential roads to minimize impacts on people's lives and production. Ms. Le Thi Que (Hamlet 2, Nha Bich Commune) has nearly 1 hectare of land in the recovered area and shared: "Our wish after the construction of the highway is that residential roads need to be designed reasonably to create the most favorable conditions, especially during the construction process, so that people's land and crops are not affected."
Mr. Le Van Dung, a resident of Minh Thang 7 Hamlet, Nha Bich Commune, whose family owns a pig farm of 3,000 pigs, also commented that during the project implementation, he hopes that his economic model will not be disrupted, because there is a high possibility that the power line he personally pulled worth several hundred million VND will be affected, affecting the care of his family's pig herd worth tens of billions of VND.
“People highly agree with the State’s policy of building the highway because this is a project that helps the country develop. However, many households have pig farms like mine, just a half-day power outage is dangerous for the pigs... I hope the State has a solution when constructing that will not interrupt the production and business of households” - Mr. Dung shared.
The North-South Expressway Project, Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh section, has a total length of about 124km, with a total investment of about VND 25,540 billion. Of which, the section passing through communes and wards in Dong Nai province alone is more than 100km. The project is expected to be put into operation in 2027.
Up to now, time has been very urgent, therefore, the local authorities of Dong Nai province where the project passes through are actively participating with a high sense of responsibility to soon hand over the site to the construction unit of this important project.
Initially, with high consensus from the people, Mr. Nguyen Tan Loc, Head of the Economic Department of Nha Bich commune, expected: "With the spirit of consensus and high support from the people for the project, we hope that when carrying out the next tasks such as counting land, materials, crops, construction works... the people will cooperate well, proactively hand over the site early to implement the project on time".
The North-South Expressway project in the West, Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh section, is over 124km long. In the first phase, the project is designed with a scale of 4 lanes, an expected speed of 100-120km/h, divided into 5 component projects. Dong Nai is in charge of component project 3 (receiver roads, overpasses in the area) and component project 5 (land clearance). Lam Dong is in charge of component projects 2 and 4. Component project 1 invests in building the expressway under the PPP method. The project is scheduled to be prepared and start construction in 2025, basically completed in 2026, and put into operation in 2027.
After being put into operation, the North-South Expressway in the West, Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh section, will not only connect and create new space and development momentum for the two provinces of Dong Nai and Lam Dong, but also help exploit the potential of land use, develop tourism, processing industry, mineral exploitation industry, gradually restructure the economy of the Central Highlands; contribute to the successful implementation of socio-economic development goals and tasks, ensure national defense and security in the Central Highlands and the Southeast region, promote national development in the era of national development.
