On June 24, Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Le Trung Chinh signed a decision approving the investment policy for the project to improve the traffic intersection of Cach Mang Thang Tam - Le Thanh Nghi - Thang Long - Hoa Xuan bridge, with a total investment of more than 1,571 billion VND from the city budget. This is one of the key urban traffic projects, of special significance in connecting the central area with the surrounding districts such as Cam Le, Ngu Hanh Son and Hoa Xuan ecological urban area.
The Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Transport and Agricultural Works is the investor of the technical infrastructure component; the Land Fund Development Center is responsible for compensation, support and site clearance. Implementation period is from 2025 to 2029.

According to the decision, the project is divided into two components. The first component is compensation, support and resettlement, estimated at about 129.5 billion VND. The second component is technical infrastructure construction, with a total cost of nearly 1,441.6 billion VND. Of which, construction costs are more than 1,175 billion VND; consulting and management costs are about 78 billion VND; contingency costs are nearly 188 billion VND.
Technically, the current Hoa Xuan bridge will be kept intact and a new bridge will be built downstream to increase traffic volume. The intersection cluster on the Hoa Cuong Nam side will have two underpasses built – one on Cach Mang Thang Tam Street and one on Thang Long Street – with access roads on both sides.
Le Thanh Nghi Street is expanded towards the park land, from Le No to the beginning of Hoa Xuan Bridge. Do Xu Bridge is expanded towards Khue Trung Lake, and a right turn lane is arranged from Le Thanh Nghi Street to Cach Mang Thang Tam to reduce traffic conflicts. On Hoa Xuan side, the new connecting route runs under the bridge, connecting Giang Huong 1 Street with Ton That Duong Ky, ensuring the reorganization of traffic in the area in a convenient, safe and connected manner.
In addition, the entire technical system such as water supply and drainage, lighting, medium and low voltage electricity, telecommunications, communications, etc. will also be relocated and rebuilt synchronously. This is the vital connection route with National Highway 1A, the Southern Ring Road and rapidly developing new residential and urban areas.
According to the leader of the Department of Construction of Da Nang City, the synchronous implementation of items at this intersection cluster not only reduces the load on the inner-city traffic system but also contributes to shaping a modern traffic axis, connecting the inner city with the expanded area.
The investment in this strategic intersection is part of the orientation for smart and sustainable urban development of Da Nang City until 2030, with a vision to 2045. The project is expected to start construction at the end of 2025 after completing technical procedures and detailed approval.
