Launching the 2025 Journalism Award on Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation

On the afternoon of June 24, the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) officially launched the Journalism Award on Science and Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation in 2025. The time to receive works starts from June 25 to November 15, 2025.

Over the years, the annual Science and Technology Journalism Award organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology has attracted the participation of a large number of press agencies, journalists and reporters nationwide, thereby actively contributing to raising social awareness of the role, significance and impact of science and technology on the country's socio-economic development.

The year 2025 marks an important turning point for the award. In order to strongly promote communication activities, contribute to spreading widely and realizing the strategic goals of the Party in Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo , on June 20, 2025, the Minister of Science and Technology issued Decision No. 1384/QD-BKHCN promulgating the regulations for awarding the Journalism Award on Science and Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation to encourage and honor authors with outstanding journalistic works on these fields. Accordingly, for the first time, the award has expanded its scope of consideration to foreign individuals and organizations whose journalistic works are published in the Vietnamese press in accordance with the law.

The journalism award on science and technology, innovation and digital transformation attracted the attention of many journalists.

According to the regulations, participating works must be of high quality in content and form; deeply, comprehensively and discover issues related to research, application of science and technology, innovation, digital transformation; introduce effective initiatives, models, and typical achievements that have a positive impact on life; and at the same time, commend outstanding individuals and collectives in this field.

In addition, the work must ensure accuracy, objectivity, and timeliness; be presented clearly, logically, and expressed in a form appropriate to each type of press (print, electronic, radio, television, press photos). Works that have a positive impact on society, create a media effect, and promote public awareness of the role of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation will be given priority for evaluation.

Eligible works are those published from January 1 to November 15, 2025. Each type of journalism will have the following categories: 1 First Prize, 1 Second Prize, 1 Third Prize and 2 Encouragement Prizes. Each author or group of authors can submit multiple works but will only be awarded a maximum of one prize at the highest level. The winning authors and groups of authors will receive the Award Cup, a certificate from the Organizing Committee and corresponding bonuses, announced annually by the standing agency.

The awarding process consists of three rounds: Preliminary round, Final round and Announcement and Award Ceremony. The time of the award ceremony will be decided by the Organizing Committee, ensuring compliance with the implementation progress and current financial regulations. Press agencies and authors directly send their works to the award standing agency by post or email with a registration form confirmed by the publishing press agency.
