The Great Mountains and the coastal city of Gia Lai join in the National Day festival

(GLO)-The atmosphere of National Day September 2nd filled many places in Gia Lai, bringing a vibrant and colorful festival picture. From the echoes of the great gongs to the captivating cultural and artistic performances, all blended together to create a festival of joy, love for the homeland and the desire to rise up.

Continuing the series of events within the framework of the festival "The Quintessence of the Great Forest - Convergence of the Blue Sea" 2025, today, many attractive activities continue to be organized to serve the people and tourists. The highlight is the Street Festival with the theme "Colors of the Ocean", the Traditional Art Performance Program is held in turn at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square and Chien Thang Square (Quy Nhon Ward).

In the atmosphere of the Street Festival held in the afternoon of the day, on the brilliant streets, visitors are immersed in the colors of the carnival, harmonizing with the vibrant music , the echoing sound of gongs, humming the Bai Choi tune, watching the powerful traditional martial arts performances of Binh Dinh...

The splendid and creative flower floats associated with ocean tuna, basalt coffee, mixed with the gentle smiles of the workers sent a message of love for the homeland, pride in identity and strong development aspirations of Gia Lai on a new journey.

The vibrant gong sounds from the highland artisans have become a special highlight. Mr. R'com Bus, a gong artisan from Pleiku Roh village (Thong Nhat ward), shared after the performance: "We have practiced for nearly 3 weeks. We are very happy to bring the unique culture of our people to the sea to promote it more widely, so that tourists and people in the East of the province have the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the mountains and forests of the Jrai people."

For Meritorious Artist Nguyen Phu (Tuy Phuoc Commune), who has a lot of experience performing for tourists, this is a special festival occasion. “Today, I take on the role of the Bai Choi leader with the artists, bringing a vibrant atmosphere to the festival. This is an opportunity to promote the image of the Bai Choi art in particular and the cultural quintessence of Gia Lai province in general to the coastal city of Quy Nhon, so that people and tourists can understand more about the diversity and uniqueness of the traditional art of their homeland.”

According to Mr. Bui Trung Hieu - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, this is not only an opportunity for tourists and artists to meet, but also a place to express the feelings and aspirations of the ethnic communities of Gia Lai, a land stretching from the mountains to the sea. The bustling footsteps and cheerful melodies seem to recreate the joyful working rhythm of farmers, fishermen and workers, together sublimating in new vitality, new faith and new success.

Joyfully join in the big holiday

The Street Festival with the theme “Colors of the Sea” has left a deep impression on locals and tourists. Enthusiastic about learning about the art of Tuong, Alex (a tourist from the United States) shared: “I have been in Vietnam for 7 months and just arrived in the coastal city of Quy Nhon yesterday (August 30). I swam in the sea, walked around the streets and today I joined the Street Festival. There were really so many colors. I was especially impressed with the art of Tuong, especially the unique makeup. In the future, I will definitely come back to experience more of the culture here.”

At the traditional art program, many visitors lingered to enjoy the special melodies. Ms. Inge, a visitor from the Kingdom of Belgium, shared: “While walking down the street with my friends, I heard this vibrant and very special music. Although we did not understand all the lyrics, we were still attracted by the melody and rhythm. The music helped us fully experience the festival atmosphere.”

In the western region of the province, according to the reporter of Gia Lai Newspaper and Radio and Television, on the second day of the September 2nd holiday, the weather was sunny and cool, many people took the opportunity to plan for a long holiday.

Among them, Dien Hong Park (Dien Hong Ward) is a destination that welcomes quite a lot of tourists. The family of Ms. Vu Thi Vuong (Group 4, Thong Nhat Ward) with 10 members chose Dien Hong Park and Dai Doan Ket Square as their destination.

Ms. Vuong shared: “In the atmosphere of the whole country joyfully celebrating National Day September 2, my family also wore the red flag with yellow star as a small flag contributing to the millions of flags fluttering on the great holiday. The family has small children so they only chose to have fun in the central area. The atmosphere at the square is preparing for the music night and fireworks on the evening of September 2, making us also excited and looking forward to this year's great holiday.”

Pleiku Museum (Pleiku Ward) has also become a destination for many young people who want to preserve memories associated with national pride. Among the crowd of visitors taking photos, Thai Thi Nhu Ngoc (village 3, Bien Ho Commune) shared: "I see the museum and the square as a place to preserve many beautiful relics and images left by our ancestors and soldiers. It feels both beautiful and proud, so I took the opportunity to take a photo album to preserve memories on this important occasion."

In the evening, the rehearsal of the art program to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, with the theme "Gia Lai: Sea and sky in harmony - Shining quintessence" took place at Dai Doan Ket Square (Pleiku ward) attracting a large number of people and tourists to watch.

The program not only attracts those who can attend the main show, but is also an ideal choice for many busy people. Ms. Vo Le Uyen Thuy (Hoi Phu ward) shared: “Due to the nature of my work, I have to work all day on the holiday, so I took my family to watch the rehearsal so as not to miss the program. The performances are very attractive and tight, the audience can deeply feel the culture of their homeland”.
