According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, in recent times, the inspection of compliance with intellectual property laws on copyright and related rights in Da Nang City has received attention and focus. In general, organizations and individuals operating in the fields of fine arts, photography, exhibitions, advertising; cultural service establishments... strictly comply with legal regulations on copyright and related rights when using works, audio and video recordings; performing arts activities in the city have been notified and permitted by the management agency; individuals and organizations related to copyright have complied well when using works.
Through inspections, the authorities regularly provide guidance and disseminate legal regulations on copyright and related rights to business entities in order to raise awareness and voluntary compliance with the law of organizations and individuals doing business in the field of management. During the inspection process, no cases or acts of violation or infringement of copyright and related rights were detected.
In addition, training, improving legal knowledge, management, enforcement and direction of news agencies, press, information, and propaganda of laws on copyright and related rights have been strengthened and promoted. Self-protection of copyright and related rights by associations and individuals in Da Nang City has had positive, proactive and more regular changes.
Many collective copyright and related rights organizations and subjects have applied measures permitted by law to protect their rights, including technological measures such as: submitting applications for copyright and related rights registration at the Copyright Office, and authorizing copyright and related rights through collective rights representative organizations, especially in the music field.
In addition, the activities of four organizations managing collective copyright and related rights (Vietnam Center for Protection of Music Copyright - VCPMC, Vietnam Center for Literary Copyright - VLCC, Vietnam Recording Industry Association - RIAV, Vietnam Reproduction Rights Association VIETRRO) have also supported entities in negotiating and granting licenses for use and collecting on behalf of copyright and related rights owners. Collective copyright and related rights management organizations with specialized personnel, professional, public and transparent operations have gradually created trust for artists, intellectuals, and investors who entrust rights.
According to the general assessment, the implementation of Decision No. 88/QD-TTg in Da Nang City received close attention and direction from Party committees and authorities at all levels, and the coordination of functional agencies from the city to the grassroots level in guiding and propagating as a premise for implementation.
The system of legal documents regulating copyright and related rights is increasingly being improved and updated to suit the actual situation; Legal regulations on copyright and related rights are widely disseminated, especially in performing arts activities, karaoke business, hotel business; fine arts activities, photography, exhibitions, etc.
Coordination between specialized inspectors and districts is carried out regularly and flexibly to ensure timely guidance and handling of cases related to copyright and related rights in the city; to prevent disputes and complaints.
Awareness of relevant units, organizations and individuals in Da Nang city about copyright and related rights regulations has been raised and the spirit of voluntary compliance is increasingly higher./.
